Moxibustion belongs to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) therapy using moxa, or the herb, mugwort. It plays an important role in TCM. Mainly cigar-shaped sticks are used in the treatment. It can be used indirectly or with acupuncture needles.

Moxa can be used to warm regions and acupuncture points with the intention of stimulating circulation through these points thus creating a greater flow of blood and energy (qi). Moxibustion works against "cold" and "dampness" in the body.

Moxibustion pre-dated acupuncture, and needling came to supplement moxa after the second centuary BC.

After examining the tongue of the patient it's possible for me to decide if this form of treatment is a suitable one or not. It's a very relaxing form of therapy and a helpful one.
